From the recording A Bend in the Light
Ultimately this is a song about maturation. Early on in the song I am trying to depict my life as bit monotonous, and that I am also feeling a little tired and unamused. At one point I feel I underwent a mental/spiritual transformation and I tried to depict/lyricize this as well. With greater understanding I was able to mature and develop a more positive attitude and this can be heard in the final verse: "Beneath the leaves, small tree, you've grown, behold the light! New Crown!, Reaching Forth, Found!"

Lyrics
"New Crown"
Tail lights, streets at night, collide, to wake me up
There’s a ghost inside, that’s all you’ll find
I know, just wake me up
Down the stairs, I’m in the lair
Could you bring me to the light?
I don’t fight the Lion, courage and strength defy all
Bring me to the light
Trying harder, yet I sink below
Dwindling echoes, no hand to hold
Trying harder, I’ve been here before
Further and further from every goal
Just a glimpse above the rift
Spirits touch within to lift
All of the world I’m free of it
There are times we want to start again
Cross skies into full light
New Crown
Burden falls with every word, gone
Every step, shorter
Weary now, gone
Height too far, too hard, I know
Beneath the leaves, small tree you’ve grown
Behold the light
New Crown
Reaching forth
Found
